I really love the recipes in this book. They are healthy, quick, and can be eaten while watching a great movie. I appreciate a fun-themed cooking book that assists me in preparing great food that impresses- sometimes more than the movie! Thanks also for putting in the pictures so I can duplicate your artistic look for the food. GREAT!
I have actually made a couple of the recipes mentioned in this collection, and they have been VERY popular at the Pot Lucks and Family Film Events I have taken them too. As an Engineer, I appreciate how she lays out the process for creating her culinary works of art. They are easy to create and satisfying to present to friends. Of course I claimed full credit for the creations until I was threatened with water-boarding to identify the true source! Get this book and never wonder what you will make for company again!
There are so many times when I am attending a pot luck or some friends are getting together for dinner. I always struggle with what to bring. So many things that I like to cook is difficult to transport or needs to be cooked where it will be served. When I found this book I thought "What a great idea!" The recipes are simple to follow, taste amazing and get rave reviews. I truly appreciate the work that went into this book because I get all of the compliments and I love experimenting with new dishes. I wanted to work my way through all of the recipes but people keep requesting the same ones over and over again!!
Full disclosure here. I LOVE film! I know Kyre and Madeleine. Therefore I don't just eat with my eyes when I read their book. I have eaten her food in person. I thought at least one person who has eaten her food should review her fabulous and fun book. Chef Kyre translates her wonderful food into doable recipes.
Having gluten-free options in her book is just an awesome kindness for me. I get to eat wonderful meals with friends, and not have to be that weird, pain in the butt friend, with a special needs diet.
I'm supposed to be sugar free on my diet too. Happily I haven't been struck by lightning when cheating. Because it ain't livin' if you haven't eaten Kyre's rich and sinful ganashe in the desert section. I thought only French trained people could make it. Turns out your rank and file home cooks can do it too with the right guidance.
