Scarlett and Jade Jennings, conjoined twins fused at the pelvis, share everything from the waist down. Born to a Bulgarian teen with a drug addiction, the sisters were given up at birth to be raised in a treacherous orphanage and then adopted at the age of three by an American couple. Now motivational speakers and New York Times bestselling authors, the two make a daring move—to the glittering lights of Las Vegas. Their structured world unravels following their introduction to shadowy magician Sebastian Cole. Even after Scarlett discovers that Vegas’s most sought-after illusionist is rumored to possess demonic powers and that his own mother tried to kill him, she finds herself drawn to him. But for Scarlett to be with Sebastian, Jade must be appeased. Yet self-centered Jade, unstable and increasingly aggressive, only fuels the shadows that have plagued Sebastian since his birth. Is it really love that has brought them together. Or are they only high-profile pawns in the ongoing war between good and evil?

Vanishing Twin Untapped Series Volume 1 Tanja K Kobasic Miss 9780988155428 Books

Scarlett and Jade Jennings have just published their New York Times bestseller entitled My Sister’s Hands. Describing their journey from horrific conditions in a Bulgarian orphanage to healthy environs via a providential US adoption, these conjoined twins — fused just below the waist, are now recognized as celebrities. It is during one of their book signings that they meet Sebastian Cole, the famous Las Vegas illusionist. An immediate attraction takes place between Scarlett and the handsome entertainer who is rumored to be controlled by demonic powers. Inevitably, an invitation to one of Sebastian’s spectacular performances leads to a party that goes offensively awry. Nonetheless, dating ensues. It is apparent that Scarlett and Sebastian’s magnetism has never waned since their introduction. This not only creates tension between Scarlett and Jade – something that rarely occurs between the adjoined sisters, but also Jade’s increasing erratic behavior seems to coincide with the presence of a mysterious yet ominous shadow. Kobasic’s latest novel has an overarching theme of good over evil amid a steamy romance.

Rising author Tanja Kobasic spins a one-of-a-kind story made up of unique characters placed with a twisted Romeo-and-Juliet setting. Kobasic presents a conjoined twin’s unrealistic and unfulfilled thoughts and dreams of intimacy. Told through the prettier and more physically developed of the sisters, Scarlett’s first person narrative reflects a woman who never expects to experience sexual love, nor thinks that anyone will find her attractive. Yet when Sebastian enters her life, all she wants is to be set free from the physical confines of her sister Jade. Concurrently, Sebastian – who is presented in third person narrative – does not appear to have any physical abnormalities. But don’t be fooled. His life is more convoluted than you may think. Amid the varied circumstances of these two lovers, Kobasic’s protagonists (Scarlett and Sebastian) constantly look for opportunities to share their love.

Kobasic uses paradox as a key literary element to glue her plot together. This literary device is so heavily laced that it is difficult to distinguish what is and what is not normal. For instance, the twins undoubtedly have a disability. But Kobasic dispels stereotypes. These girls are attractive, wear stylish clothing, and live rather lavishly. Sebastian seems to have it all together. But his life is a facade. Yet aside of their differences, Scarlett and Sebastian desire to move on with their lives, which indeed earmarks them as dynamic characters. Kobasic’s meticulous attention to character development includes small but very crucial supporting cast members, such as the patient wisdom of Leon, Sebastian’s assistant, and the quirky but solid advice of Esperança, Sebastian’s aunt. Of course, this being the first book in Kobasic’s Untapped Series, the antagonists are just beginning to show up. While Sebastian’s (supposed aunt) Ebony (aka Trigger) is high on the chart of villains, Kobasic’s name-dropping indicates that forthcoming characters will go beyond Ebony’s malevolence.

Closing with a cliffhanger, Kobasic’s absolutely fascinating plot slowly builds good vs evil while interweaved in Scarlett and Sebastian’s unrequited relationship. For readers who enjoy a plethora of irony amid twists and turns, look no further. Vanishing Twin has all those elements as so much more to keep readers engage from cover to cover.

Vanishing Twin Untapped Series Volume 1 Tanja K Kobasic Miss 9780988155428 Books Reviews

Riveting, thought provoking and mesmerizing. This novel is simply a fantastic read, so much so, that it becomes addicting and very hard to put down. Its an account of one of two conjoined twins, her thoughts and feelings and attempting to live a life where she is eternally bound to her sister. She finds love in an unpredictable person, who has his own demons he is having to battle, only his demons are more of the physical shape. While he is showing her how to be an independent person despite never having actual freedom, she is showing him that there is always hope even in the most despairing times.
I can not wait to get the sequel, Twin Flames, and read this book as well. It's simply a great read.
I got this book for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review, however, this is simply just a fantastic read, I will be following this series.
Right now I am on chapter 25 and I have to say this book is turning out to be great! These sisters, Scarlett and Jade, have a real relationship as sisters and it is a love and hate relationship but I have to say the real friendship and sisterhood is between Scarlett and Ivy. Ivy just completes her. The story in my opinion is really made because of the relationship between Scarlett and Ivy and between Scarlett and Sebastian. I also want to point out that this author does an amazing job on details and because of the little things here and there it is really easy to see what the author sees. It is easy to see the reaction on Scarlett's face and to picture the places and events because of her writing style. Like for example the Vortex, I could see the details, the room, the levels because of the detail the author put into this book. Overall I have to say that I am loving this book, this author and I can not wait to dive deep into any of her other books.

I received this product for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
This story is definitely different than the kind I normally read. Definitely a good twist on good versus evil. Its a story of conjoined twins, in which one of the sisters falls in love with a renowned magician Sebastian. The story tells of the sisters thoughts, feelings and attempts at what she would consider a normal life, while being bound to her sister. Of course the sisters have their demons they have to face day to day, while unknowing to them Sebastian has his own as well, just more in a physical sense. As the story unfolds you realize that Sebastian is not only helping the sisters come to terms with their life and situation, that they are also helping him to find the light in the darkness. The ending leaves you wanting for more, and I can't wait to read the sequel, Twin Flames. I was lucky enough to receive this product during a promotion for my honest and unbiased review.
Wow, I don't even know where to start! When I was told about this book and I looked it up was like, meep boring. This isn't a book I would usually pick out for myself, but I am glad I took the jump. The book was captivating and I got hooked! Yes, I was shocked too. The bond the sisters have is so clearly established and so is the love attraction to Sebastian. The plot of this story is a tricky one to convey and I wasn't sure how it was going to play out but the author did an amazing job of bringing the characters to life in my head and articulating everything the way it needed to be done. Bravo! My lesson learned after reading this book... don't judge a book by it's cover, title, or blurb. Take a chance and you just might find a nugget of pure gold in your hands, like I did with this book.
